It's easy to fool the left all of the time

I sent a note to my friend whose org is defending a couple goon's actions last week. The Yes Men pulled a prank that had all the left wing news orgs - ABC, NBC etc believing that the Chamber of Commerce was in support of Cap & Trade in order to defeat "climate change" AKA global warming, which is not true. Here is the parody site. The defense is that it is parody protected by the 1st Amendment. One thing for sure, it's easy to fool ABC, CNN, CBS and NBC, which reported this as true and persisted in doing so - even in the midst of a fake news conference. Here is the story in full.

Like looking into a crystal ball

A great article in the Sun about what's going on in Great Britain. Quite a few similarities between us and them, and maybe could serve as a bit of a warning to us.

Give me liberty or give me medication

A friend of mine cited a NY Times article indicating the inefficiencies of treating obesity and diabetes resulting from poor eating habits and that this was a good excuse for govt to run the heath care system and implement the "preventive" measures that would greatly decrease the money spent on the big bad rascally food companies and health care companies.

My response was that the main issue is not inefficiency. It's allowing the government to determine what is appropriate to eat given they are paying for my health care, and what is appropriate for a doctor to charge. Plus, profit is not a sin. This statement in the article is a classic example of the liberal media's desire to pit us all against each other: "There’s more money in amputating the limbs of diabetics than in counseling them on diet and exercise." Anyone knows that a decent doctor will choose amputation as a last resort - and amputations aren't all that profitable. I would rather have inefficiency and liberty, than the alternative.

"Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Let them Eat Tuscan Kale

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." Thomas Jefferson. This just in from the Washington Post.

See Joe Wilson, he didn't lie. Yet.

I thought Joe Wilson was reprimanded for saying the President lied. But this is a perfect example why you need to be on your toes with this administration. This from the Washington Times: "President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage."

A Representative of All

Today I listened to a rally by Obama and it sent chills. It sounded like shades of the old despots giving their ranting speeches that in turn stirred up the emotions of the audience, and Lord knows Obama excels at this. But more than that, it dawned on me that I really didn't hear anything new - no substance. And more than that, I figured out why his poll numbers are declining as he gives these speeches.

Obama keeps referring to "they" and "them" and "those" who are getting in the way and keeping us from progressing with health care, cap and trade and all his other programs.

I think more and more Americans - whether they consider themselves Democrats, Republicans or Independents - are starting to figure out that the "they" is them when they find themselves on the opposite side of an issue.

This is unique, because pretty much to date, presidents have rallied people to their issues, and even if they knew that quite a few folks who may not have voted for them might not want something their pushing at a particular time, Americans would always be rest assured that the President was trying to look out for the people's welfare.

When a President starts demonizing one group of people because they stand in the way of his issue, this begins the decline to eventual despotism. Once the President takes the oath of office, he is a representative of all, not a champion of some.

Happy Constitution Day

I hate all of you, but I like Chinese.

I have been told today by Jimmy Carter and all the other libs that I am a racist because I disagree with the libs and Obama. So I said to myself, self, why fight it anymore. I am white, heterosexual and male, so I might as well despise all blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals, females and the French. Oh, and I won't like Jews and Muslims either. I'll hate everyone equally. But I do like Chinese. Maybe my new admission will go further to help race relations. To celebrate my new-found bigotry, I hereby share this wonderful little Monty Python ditty.

My Take on Saturday

"Make Mine Freedom"

This cartoon was produced 51 years ago and is just as relevant today as it was in 1948. From the film, this quote: "

"When anybody preached disunity, tries to pit one of us against another through class warfare, race hatred or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives."

Adams and Jefferson

I gleaned this from a book that compiles all the letters of Adams and Jefferson, and one can get emotional reading them, especially in light of current events that will compromise what these two individuals set up.
"The general Principles, on which the Fathers Atchieved Independence, were the only Principles in which that beautiful Assembly of young Gentlemen could Unite . . . . And what were these general Principles? I answer, the general Principles of Christianity, in which all those Sects were United: And the general Principles of English and American Liberty, in which all those young Men United, and which had United all Parties in America, in Majorities sufficient to assert and maintain her Independence. Now I will avow, that I then believed, and now believe, that those general Principles of Christianity, are as eternal and immutable, as the Existence and Attributes of God; and that those Principles of Liberty, are as unalterable as human Nature and our terrestrial, mundane System. I could therefore safely say, consistently with all my then and present Information, that I believed they would never make Discoveries in contradiction to these general Principles."
John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, 1816

United States ARE

Before the War of Northern Aggression occurred in 1861, The people referred to the United States ARE, not the United States IS. In fact, Jefferson referred to Virginia as his country, and Robert E Lee rejected a command in the Union Army in order to instead fight for his country - which was also Virginia.

It is an amazing thing as you watch the dismantling of the United States by the Democratic Party, that the founding fathers in their infinite wisdom, put so many checks on the power of what the Federal government can and cannot do. This was usurped yesterday when the Congress voted to restrict a person's right to carry a concealed weapon across state lines. There is a little thing called the 2nd Amendment that says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, but the Dems never let the Constitution get in their way before.

And so here is an article today that illustrates the fact that several states are once again reasserting their rights under the 10th Amendment. And those are the only countries I'd fight for.

A personal story about the future of health care

In my state, as in most I am sure, the state requires that to become a nurse you must be licensed and to get that license you take a final test, which you cannot take until the state processes your paperwork.

This processing time takes six to eight weeks. Ours took exactly eight weeks. One more day it would have been nine.

At the 6th week, my wife started calling to get the status. To get the status, you have to call the government office. This waiting time averages 20 minutes before a grunt picks the phone up and says, hello. The first time she called, they said they didn't receive the package they needed from the school. So my wife called the school and had the package resent - placing us in peril of another eight-week wait.

The next call was to get to the person in charge. But the person in charge doesn't accept phone calls and doesn't return messages either.

I then called my state rep to help. He is a conservative so I knew I'd at least have a sympathetic ear and could utilize the help of someone in government who knew government. His person in charge also called and got similar cold shoulders. When the government person explained to the other government person that we were unemployed and needed to get moving on the licensing so we could get unemployed in a state that has high unemployment, the government lady in charge was "unmoved."

In the second to last call, my wife tried to get in touch with the person who did know everything about her paperwork and was working on it. The reply was that she was out of the office on vacation and no one was sure when she'd get back. (Keep in mind that this type of accountability is above most civil servant's pay grades.)

Finally success. We got the paperwork.

But this is just a taste of what government health care will look like if it passes.

The heat is off

Is it possible... I mean just possible, that the only global warming we need to worry about is coming out of this guy's mouth? Temps where I live have been cold enough to cause frost two days ago and the infernal furnace keeps kicking on. I have never had the heat on in the office this late in the year.

Dems, this is your future

Great news for once - coming out of the countries that experimented with what we are implementing now - socialism. After several years of economic failures, it appears that exit polling shows that the voters in the EU are finally saying no to Obama/Pelosi/Reid-style government.  Dems, take heart. Greece still loves you.

Time is out

I got a recent direct mail plea from Time magazine asking for my subscription, but I sent it back saying that I had no interest in government-run media. Irony of ironies, Pravda is proving a better and reliable source of information about what is actually going on under Obama:

Of course this comment would be well-received in China

Speaking in China yesterday about global warming, Nancy Pelosi said: "Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory ... of how we are taking responsibility."

Wouldn't it be great if Nancy stayed in China? They need her more than we do.

Michigan unemployment up, government jobs up

What's wrong with this picture? Michigan unemployment is now at 12.9%.

The bad thing is that non-farm payrolls lost 38,000.
Fortunately, government payrolls increased 2,000 - the only category to add jobs. At least we can all go to work for the government.

Hello boys and girls, today we are going to learn a new word today. Can you say "socialism"?

Will the last person leaving Michigan please turn the lights out.

Be careful where you kick that cow pie

A old cowboy friend of mine from Oklahoma once said that if your going to kick a cowpie at someone, you invariably are going to get a lot of it on your own boot. So hats off to Nancy Pelosi for trying to kick it George Bush's way. It looks like this time, it may all fly back in her face.

Happy Earth Day

I want to celebrate Earth Day by focusing attention on the wonderful, historical, traditional, brown paper bag. I have a friend whose trees give up their lives for this precious commodity. The neat thing about the brown paper bag is that you have to cut down a tree that you planted a few years back for the sole purpose of making the bag. This supplies jobs for the tree cutter and provides income for the tree owner. Once the tree is cut, another is planted in its place so it can in turn grow and provide income later on, and shade and oxygen while it's growing.

After the tree is cut down, the pulp is processed and somebody has to manufacture the bag and they usually get paid for doing that. Sometimes, more revenue that is taxable is generated because an advertiser may want to put a message on the side of the bag. Then the grocery store or whatever, buys the bag from the company. It then is shipped, stocked and displayed in its full tanned glory. There are earth muffins who pay tanning salons lots of money to look as good as this bag.

The store's customer then is asked whether they'd like paper or plastic. The liberal, earth muffin, Birkenstock tree-hugger will choose plastic because they think they are saving trees by not using the paper bag. They choose plastic, take the plastic home, throw it away and the plastic ends up in a land fill where it will retain its original plastic condition for the next 10-20 years.

The little brown bag however, biodegrades in 2-5 months, just in time to provide a bit of nutrients to the tree that the conservative, nasty, big business farmer planted to replace the bag.

Hat's off to you, the brown paper bag. Celebrate earth day by choosing it.

Big Savings!

Mark Levin is right - here's the equivalent of Obama's $100 million savings today: If you have a household income of $100,000 a year and you cut the same percentage of spending as Obama did today in the Federal budget, you'd save a whopping $3! Thank you, thank you Obama!

Chump change is really all we need.

Where's Neville Chamberlain when we need him

Here's a a list of abuses perpetrated by Hugo Chavez in Venezuela since he came to power in 1998:
1) Wide range of discriminatory acts against political opponents
2) Aborted the separation of powers by politically taking over the Supreme Court in 2004
3) Limited freedom of speech by creating incentives for the media to self-censor itself, and by intimidating and discriminating stations with critical programming
4) Undercut labor unions by denying a worker's right to bargain, fired workers who strike, denied workers right to collectively bargain, and discriminated against workers with different political beliefs
5) Civil rights advocates have faced prosecutorial harassment, a discrediting of their efforts by unsubstantiated allegations, and restriction to access to international funding

Here are a few more from Amnesty International:
1)Torture and killings of children are being committed by government forces under the excuse of combatting crime
2)Torture of children used by government authorities in interrogation sessions
3) Investigations into these abuses are hampered by government authorities
4)Children detained are often not allowed an adequate defence or fair hearing

And a few more from your own US Dept of State:

1) Unlawful killings of criminal suspects
2) Torture and abuse of detainees
3) Harsh prison conditions
4) Unlawful taking of private property
5) Illegal wiretapping
6) Violence and discrimination against women, abuse of children, discrimination against people with disabilities, lack of protection of indigenous people
7) Trafficking in people
8) Restriction in the right to associate

I am my country's own worst enemy?

Today, I discovered that I and millions of other conservative Americans are for the first time in our nation's history, perceived as a possible threat to the United States. To read this drivel, open this PDF government report by 'Homeland Security.'

If conservatives like me believe in a nation of laws and believe it is necessary to uphold these laws, believe in respecting the offices of our elected leaders - whether we agree with them or not - and believe in peaceful transition of government through elections, why would we be a threat?

Answer: This report is simply another method and opportunity to suppress political dissent and free speech by those on the left who would make you believe that they are the guarantors of it, and they get away with this by claiming it is in the 'interest and safety of the people.'

The Real Pirate

Happy belated Easter Minnesota - it is increasingly looking like this wasically wabbit will be your new senator. He's just doing what every good pirate and Democrat does - keep counting votes until you move ahead and then stop counting.

Why Obama returned Winston Churchill's bust to England

Obama's first act upon entering the White House was to return the bust of Winston Churchill to England. If you consider in part Obama's upbringing, his 'misstatement' about his "muslim faith," his recent preference to visit a mosque over an invitation to visit Normandy and his bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia, I am convinced that the following quote from Churchill is the main reason why. (For you Obama voters, Normandy is the site of the D-Day invasion which took place on June 6, 1944, and where 9,386 of our dead are now buried.)

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.

The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

The Boss and Fairness

Bruce Springsteen is probably my favorite living musician, but I've never been too keen on his political views. In a concert in the 80's he told the audience that the flag always meant "fairness" to him - that everything for everybody basically was suppose to be fair - people were not supposed to go hungry here, without homes and so on, and that big mean Ronald Reagan was responsible.

In the interest of "fairness" I have come up with a proposal the Boss might like:

1) It is not fair that some musicians should make more than others. Therefore, all ticket sales for all musicians, no matter how popular, should be capped at $20 so that poorer people can afford any concert they want to go to.

2) 90% of Springteen's ticket sales should go to a government special fund which distributes it equally to all musicians - popular or unpopular - famous or non. It is not fair that unpopular or lesser known musicians be unable to share equally in the proceeds of concerts.

3) 90% of Springsteen's income from CD sales, and licensing merchandise should also go to the government's special fund for equal distribution.

4) Springsteen's overall income should be capped at $500,000 a year. It is not fair for one musician to get an unequal share of income from their efforts and talent, while undiscovered or new talent suffer by going homeless or without supper.

5) Of this $500,000, 95% should be taxed due to Springsteen falling into an upper income bracket. This is not out of line. The Beatles paid 19 shillings of every pound (20 shillings) to taxes, which is why they loved off-shore accounts and why they were capitalistic gazillionaires. (For Obama voters, shillings and pounds were units of monetary measure used by Great Britain before decimal coinage was adopted.)

6) No musician should be allowed to store any funds in offshore accounts.

This makes it all fair and when the Boss comes out on stage looking like a working class hero, he will indeed be able to claim he actually is one. Now that is what I call fair.

"Arrogance," "Dismissve" and "Derisive"

Today Obama said to the French (of all people) that the United States has "showed arrogance" and has "been dismissive even derisive" toward Europeans. I hoped he also apologized on behalf of these 9,386 Americans that are lying underneath European soil in Normandy.

For you Obama voters, Normandy is in France. And by the way, he shouldn't be derisive toward American dead either because most of the registered dead voters over here voted for him.

Napolitano is this week's turkey (aka "man caused disaster")

Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano is this week's turkey. Napolitano told Der Spiegel magazine that she now prefers to call terrorism "man-caused disasters." This is the typical liberal-speak designed not to offend folks who might want to cut your head off. After all, we all know as she knows that when we use words and images to offend, it just make's 'em madder.

Her crowning achievement recently has been to call for "parity" on our borders. That is, it is unfair ("fairness" is another liberal-speak word) that we should apply different measures to protect our borders along the south than as we do along the north. It's not fair to let all those drug-dealing, illegal Canadians to just flood across from Saskatchewan via North Dakota. We also know that there are at least 12 illegal Canadians in this country already.

Enforcing illegal immigration to the south the way we've been doing just makes those illegal's madder and thanks to Janet, we can rest assured that we are now persecuting Canadians in the same way we are accommodating Mexicans to freely come across and become good Democrat voters.

A Better Way for Conservatives and Liberals to Participate in Earth Hour

A group of idiots have organized an earth hour to hold the "world's first global election" to show solidarity, awareness and whatever liberals do - about global warming. You are encouraged by these dolts to turn off all your lights off for one hour from 8:30 - 9:30.

I plan to turn every light and battery and headlight on for that whole hour. Radio, computer, TV, furnace, everything. I encourage all conservatives to do the same. After this winter we need a bit of global warming.

I used to hang out with idiots like these, and believe me, I wish I didn't know how they think. Show them you care about the earth by using it's resources. Carbon Dioxide is a major source of global warming. I therefore encourage all liberals to hold their breath for one hour.

Is he referring to Gordon Brown or Barack Obama?

I think once you hear these words to Gordon Brown from MEP Daniel Hannan at the EU meeting, you will agree that we can save and copy this for reuse over here. (This would be OK to do because Biden has plagiarized in the past and if the VP can do it, I think that makes it OK.) When you listen to this - just pretend there's American accent on it and you are a year or less into the future. What is Right is Right presents you with your first crystal ball.

(I'm hoping Daniel Hannan will run for office here. If a president can now be foreign-born, I am sure we can relax the rules for other politicians.)

A message to 12 Million Illegals

It is almost a done deal if you read the tea leaves at the tea parties and see the videos of Nancy Pelosi (aka the Wicked Witch of the West) declaring that enforcing immigration law is "un-American". Despite the fact that 12 million folks who broke the law the minute they set foot in the country will soon become a new block of voters, I have decided it is un-American not to welcome them and try to educate them a bit at the same time.

Yesterday, India's Tata Motors unveiled the world's cheapest car. Aside from the fact that you'd be squished like an accordion if you ran one of these into a ten-speed bicycle (plastic bodywork, no airbags) this gas-saving fuel efficient little vehicle would make any Al Gore fan and Democrat proud.

So in the spirit of the new people's car, I decided to illustrate for 12 million voters who probably can't understand English - just what the difference is between the Democrat and the Republican Party, in hopes that the distinction might win a few votes for our side.

Viva el Coche de la Gente!

Tea Parties

This is my flag contribution for the Orlando, Florida Tea Party, based upon the original Culpepper Minuteman Flag. The tea parties are springing up all over the place, and there is an undercurrent starting to flow that the Dems (and many so-called Republicans) have not even started to fathom. Or maybe I should say that Rattlesnakes rattle before they strike. If you listen closely in the next few months, the rattle will be getting louder.

Thank God that the freedoms we once enjoyed are still in the UK

Whilst our own press would make Pravda proud, at least the United Kingdom's press has still been exercising it's King and Queen-given right to publish all the news that's fit to print - even if it doesn't make our new god-president look exactly regal. The British press is notorious for going after the truth and the latest scandals, and there's comfort in the fact that whilst the New York Times is looking away, the wonderful British press will be faithfully working to safeguard our freedoms and keep us safe from Joe Biden. God save the Queen and go here to see what the US press does not report what the UK press will.

And now folks, a positive message about the Special Olympics

On the campaign trial, the leftists desperately tried to tell the American people how evil and nasty Sarah Palin was. Now I don't blame Obama for his joke about the Special Olympics on the Tonight Show. These stupid comments happen to all of us, and unfortunately for us, they happen to Obama more frequently. I do get a bit ticked off in that gaffes are only acceptable when made by a liberal. When you hear the news reports of the Obama gaffe in the next few days, just put it in context when you see this video, and think about how much our new president really cares about all of us.

America is not a Democracy - yet.

"We are a Republican government. Real liberty is never found in despotism or in the extremes of Democracy."
Alexander Hamilton

There are a growing number of legal citizens and illegal aliens who have no understanding as to what the Founding Fathers intended our government to be or not to be. If you are one of those who thinks we are a Democracy, you are sorely mistaken. Jesus H. Obama once mentioned in a radio interview before he ran for president, that the Founding Fathers had set up a Constitution of "negative liberties." Obama viewed "negative liberties as a negative in and of itself, preferring that government institute "positive liberties." "Positive liberties" basically means government coming in and instituting financial safeguards, programs and guarantees so that the common good and necessities of the majority of people are taken care of. That folks, means that while I am writing this, our government is evolving into a Democracy. Next step is Oligarchy. Take a look at this video - it is a concise explanation of what the Founding Fathers intended us to be. For you who voted for Obama, I am not sorry there is no spanish translation.

Losing a Best Friend

I guess the best way to illustrate the feeling about Paul Harvey's passing is to simply say that I feel like I lost my best friend. Someday, the hatred, vindictiveness, pomposity, profanity and political obscenity spewed by personalities like Rosie O'Donnell, Bill Maher, Al Franken, Sean Penn, David Letterman and more will fade away into obscurity. But the gentleness, kindness and righteousness of this man from Tulsa will live on as an inspiration to many. If you doubt me, look into the eyes of Mr. Harvey as you look at this photo. God bless Paul Harvey.

Governement and Charity

Dan Pallotta has been interviewed several times on the airwaves and in print recently with the launch of his new book "Uncharitable." Dan floated a great idea of a charity stock market. What a great idea to be able to invest in companies that excel at charity! One thing is for sure - the government has shown clearly that it is horrible at administering charity (ie the Great Society, the New Deal and so on). That might be in part because government charity is unconstitutional. I was listening to the great economist Walter Williams the other day, and was amazed to find out that the Constitution was never set up to be a charitable organization (as evidenced by the quotes below.) The economist replayed a recent interview with the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the interviewer asked Reid about whether it was appropriate for the government to confiscate money from one individual to give it to the welfare of another. Reid replied when cornered that taxes are voluntary. He wasn't about to admit that yes indeed, he wants a government that requires you to give more for the welfare of another.

Imagine government ceasing all its welfare programs in favor of private for-profit companies in which you can invest. The money you give is tax deductible, and the money you invest brings you a dividend at the same time. The more efficient companies that raise lots of efficient dollars for good causes stay in business. The causes get more money because the free-market system naturally means that the cream rises to the top: Good causes get more money and you get a return on the dollar while getting a good feeling about helping someone.

Bottom line, Dan is right in advocating that we should be welcoming companies who are very good and efficient at raising money for good causes. He says not look at how much of your dollar is directly going to your cause - look at how efficently your dollar is being used for your cause.

The free enterprise system proves that if an individual is given enough incentive to reap the rewards of his or her labor, anything is possible. Dan should know - he's raised $305 million in 9 years for the fight against AIDS and breast cancer.

So as we head into a new government that wants to spread the wealth, remember that is is unconstitutional for a good reason: The framers of the Constitution knew that the people themselves would be better at administering charity. It is not a crime to reap rewards for helping someone else.

"The government of the United States is a definite government, confined to specified objects. It is not like state governments, whose powers are more general. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government."
-- James Madison, speech in the House of Representatives, January 10, 1794

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents."
-- James Madison, 4 Annals of congress 179 (1794)'

Happy President's Day

" I Pray Heaven to Bestow The Best of Blessing on This House, and on All that shall hereafter Inhabit it. May none but Honest and Wise Men ever rule under This Roof." John Adams,  November 2, 1800

Well, it was answered most of the time.

You Deserve a Stimulus Today

I like Sam Donaldson. He's a flaming liberal, but you know instinctively that he just a likable guy, and he's one of the last real journalists.

Yesterday on "This Week with George Stephanopolous,", Sam replied to George Will regarding the "porkulus" bill, that we needed to do something fast. He referred to Indiana Jones running away from the giant stone ball and that you don't have time to debate - you just jump to the left or right. (I might add that the camera went to George Will and you could see that George looked at Sam as if Sam lost his toupee.)

Sam's analogy is applicable if in fact our economy was getting rolled over by a giant stone ball. But it's not. Things were worse under Carter, and far worse under Roosevelt. (For liberal readers, I am referring to Franklin, not Theodore.) It's just that now, the nation is populated by slightly over 50% of pampered whiners. (You can see the exact percentages of pampered whiners by referring to the election results of 2008. Think blue.)

The big danger of jumping without thinking, is that the area to the left or right might just be a giant cliff that drops a thousand feet. Here's an example you can use on a personal level: If you lose your job tomorrow, do you just do something? Or do you methodically go out and plan for another job of equal pay, in the same town and so on. Or maybe if you are a pampered whiner you just jump to the left and get a job at McDonalds.

This is result of the jump the Dems made last Friday: The increase in the deficit by over a trillion dollars adds trillions more in the next few years because it establishes a new baseline for future budgets. This also adds to the 10-trillion dollar debt our government owes already - which in the end means higher interest rates on loans and mortgages. More money pumped into the economy also means more inflation. It's not a matter of if - just when.

Therefore, you can thank Pelosi, Reid and their comrades for just doing something and giving you that extra $13 a paycheck. Of course, this is before taxes and will be wiped out entirely when you need to buy a new car.

But you can always get a second job at McDonalds.

Donna Brazile, you are our first turkey.

This past Sunday I happened to watch a portion of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." I usually avoid these shows because of the bias. But at least George's roundtable yesterday consisted of 4 liberals and one token conservative.

If you want to hear an example of bipartisanship and the Democrat's idea of debate, free speech and governing, you need only listen to 'Oh Donna's' comments on the show and I paraphrase them here: "Democrats won and Republicans need to let them govern. If they want to help, fine, but if not, stop complaining."

Because our Republic was founded on lively and vigorous debate, and because there still is as of this writing an amendment (albeit a temporary amendment - hey it was good for over 220 years!) to the Constitution that prohibits the "abridging of free speech," and because there is a little thing called checks and balances, and because bipartisanship means two sides coming together and not one, I must say that is now the Republican's responsibility to ensure that our new socialist government governs as little as possible.

I thank Donna Brazile for one thing - it gives readers to this blog an introduction - an understanding - as to why I want to help fight the turkeys.

Donna - you are our first turkey, because your comment would grant you any prestigious government position - in Cuba.

Spector to Collins to Snowe

Back in the early 1900's Franklin Pierce Adams (for those of you who are liberals, he is not to be confused with our 14th President, and if you are still confused, Franklin Pierce was our 14th President) wrote a poem that immortalized the most famous double-play combination in baseball history - and what would become the model for the classic double play: Tinker to Evers to Chance.

Therefore we salute the three republicans who as of yesterday by their votes for the "porkulus bill" transformed the classic double play into the Specter to Collins to Snowe triple play on America. And that my friends, means were all out.

And so to quote the last 2 lines of Mr. Adams poem with a bit of creative license:

"Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble

'Specter to Collins to Snowe.'"
